I would be nice a simple interface once the student logs in, such as the one shown at Claroline(external link)/Dokeos(external link). It could have:
  • Agenda (Calendar)
  • News (blogs?, Articles?)
  • Documents (teacher docs)
  • Group works (including wiki page, forum, file gal, image gal per group).
  • Links (Directory)
  • Chat
  • Messaging (Tiki messaging, or E-mail messaging)
  • Audio or video conferencing (:-)
  • Surveys
  • Exercises (Homework, Quizzes, Tracker for the teachers using it for this purpose, etc.)
  • Help (FAQ's, wiki pages, or whatever for help info: forums, ...).
