Introduction
This page I attach to my User Page, to give an overview over my own project.
please klick ' + ' to see a short summary
[+]- will have:
- three installations at the first place
- contextual navigation with perspectives
- a bunch of workspaces for each installation
- intertiki to realise a global login against the main page
- different admingroups per installation
- different role and rights management concepts in each installation
- only three to four main admins for the hole project
- 3000 members in nearly 100 local groups and contact points waiting for access to the 'Tiki World'
Hey, I need help, so what I do in reward:
[+]- Not beeing a code, from my perspective my job to give that back to the community would be:
giving back what I learned about workspaces and Tiki at all and adding missing documentation, respectively helping to extend the docs
doing translation works whenever I have some sparetime - mainly en<->de de<->en
helping other new users on their first steps as I have been helped
coming to the TikiFests in my area
helping to build up the German (language) User Group
Guys and girls, my first step would be to understand and to use perspectives - the docs are very poor on that - for that I can extend the docs and show my admns (in my NGOs project) how to realise the navigation structure of the main - site and the members - area.
following I will add a desription of the project and the next page starts with the specific issues related to the core-functions perspectives - workspaces - intertiki, that I want to understand, to work with and to document in doc.t.o
Start-Situation -> Structure of the NGO
To get an understanding on the NGOs structure klick +
[+]- Following I will introduce our NGO to give an overview about the specific parameters that shape the framework of the project and why we have to tare carefully the aspects of collaborative contribution and strict rights management:
The german NGO I am working for (voluntarily) is related to fathers rights - equal parents right, family law, ...
We are a nationwide Organisation with about 100 local groups and local contact persons.
Nationwide we work as professional family law association, locally we are self aid groups.
About 5% to 10% of our nearly 3000 members are women
Most of our members face problems like the following:
*regardless having joint custody many of our members (fathers AND mothers) are refused to see their children regularly or
they are faced with ongoing problems trying to participate actively in joint custody respectively joint parental responsibility
father do not have custody only due to not having been married to the childrens mothers
finacial and health problems because of beeing ripped off to an existential minimum - in some prticular cases members face to live near the poverty level, because they have to donate most of their income to the expartner...
The Federal Republic of Germany has been convicted by the European Court of Human Rights a couple of times now and a new law will be deployed in the next couple of month to give unmarried fathers the right to claim for joint custody even against the mothers will, or hopefully to give all fathers joint parental rights at the time of the childs birth.
As many of our members have been faced exestential problems and grief, due to the collapse of their family and the refusal of contact to their children, it has to be considered, that some of them might freak out in the community.
So we will have to tar between giving the members the opportunity to contribute in an internal area, once they found a way to get distance between their personal grief and the professional work in an association.
That means especially, that the editorial work on the public website (i.e. containing our official political positions) have to be restricted to a certain small editorial team and only a few admins.
More in the next chapter; thanks for reading ;-)
Planned structure of the Tiki-Project -> rough overview
[+]- Basically I plan to start up with three Installations
Update 10.12.2010: two installations: national site, some projects, members area and local site in one and an intranet in another installation ... for certain usecases extra installations might be appropriate, but most of the public stuff in one and the internal working stuff in a second inst. will soon update the hole project.
One will be the national Website. Home of a small editorial Board, a single internal workarea (using workspace) for the national board and some workspaces with specific subdomains for subprojects like fathers-congress, family-congress, annual nationwide projects etc..
Second a local portal for the major number of groups. Here some kind of commitee or council of local admins can administrate the portal mostly on their own, just with a little bit of control and assistance by the few main admins. This portal should be home of about 20 to 50 groups in workspaces, some more 'internet business cards' and steadily rise with the increase of local groups.
The few biggest registered groups, beeing more autonmic from the federal association should get the opportunity to have installations on their own, if they needed and wanted self-administration and more freedom in functionallity
Third 'federal installation' would be a members area with an intranet for the hole association, where active members can participate and collaborate in a less controled area.
Here nationwide working groups are planned using workspaces as the main Tiki feature.
This would be the main communications and working center in time between possible meeting.
So thatwould mean, that we have something in a way comparable to the ))TikiFests(( and need an "extention" to get a virtual office or university ;-)
