The Sync4j project consists of:
1- a Java class library that implements the SyncML data synchronization protocol
2- a Java-based application framework for building SyncML server applications
3- a standalone SyncML server

a very basic SyncML server in PHP on a MySQL backend tested only with a P800 phone.

Boheme is a framework which allows you to create server-side sync application using syncml. All the complexity of syncml is completly hidden.

In a nutshell, the OSP is an attempt to create a generalized platform- and language-agnostic framework that does what Apple's iSync does: to allow all your contacts, calendar items, web bookmarks, etc. to stay in sync. The core of this system will be the SyncML framework that was designed by IBM and a lot of other industry heavy-hitters.

There are multiple efforts underway to get Horde applications (mainly the calendar, contacts, todos, and notes) to sync with various other applications and PDA devices. The mailing list for this effort is sync at lists.horde.org. This is a list of efforts, code, and related resources as we try to get this effort into high gear.

SyncML is the open standard that drives data mobility by establishing a common language for communications between devices, applications and networks. The foundation of the SyncML open standard, SyncML Data Sync (SyncML DS) ensures a consistent set of data that is always available on any device or application, any time. SyncML Device Management (SyncML DM) enables OTA administration of devices and applications, simplifying configuration, updates and support.

SyncML is an XML based standard for data synchronization. For example its supported on a lot of mobile phones and would allow OGo to sync calendering and contact information with the PIM software of your phone or handheld.

MultiSync is a free modular program to synchronize calendars, addressbooks and other PIM data between programs on your computer and other computers, mobile devices, PDAs or cell phones. MultiSync works on any Gnome platform, such as Linux.
