Can RSS feed items be filtered into the directory (and validated if validation is enabled)?

Basically, what I'd like to do (if it's feasible) is to set up several incoming RSS feeds, and a way to filter them (include / exclude specific news items from the site), and to include validated / approved items in the link Directory. I'd prefer to use the Directory as it also lets me add non-RSS links as well to stuff that's already been posted and I'd like to add in for posterity.

Make sense?

1) RSS feed comes in.
2) URLs for news items get fed into the Directory (with "validation" required)
3) Admin either approves or denies the entry being posted to the directory.
4) Potentially, the item can then be categorized / keyworded to make browsing / searching easier...

In essence an instant knowledgebase on certain topics related to a field of inquiry (say medicine or astronomy; what have you).

A second part of the question (just in general, not necessarily part of the above scenario): Is there a mechanism for filtering out duplicate URLs? Say a registered user has already submitted a link and it's been approved. Another user comes along and submits the SAME link, will the Directory kick it back and say "that link is already in there database ... here," kind of like Digg does with its validation process? Maybe this way an admin can also see if similar items have already been posted (show how far up the incoming link's directory tree the URL matches existing URLs, so the admin can see if it's some weird situation where a URL is the same but links to a comment rather than the main article, or whatever)?

And a third part of the question, more directly related to the first part. Would it be possible to set up an OUTgoing RSS feed from Directory? I ask because I think it would be cool to set up the Directory like a Knowledgebase, and people could subscribe to all or part of it (maybe subscribe to the whole thing or to a specific category / sub-category). So, is it possible to attach an outgoing RSS feed to the directory in the same way as to blogs, articles, etc?

I'm new here, obviously, so if anyone can point me in the right direction (or better yet give some steps to use to set up such features), that would be awesome.

P.S. TikiWiki looks like a pretty solid piece of CMS Software. I'm impressed. Was looking into Drupal, but a colleague pointed me in the direction instead. Thus far, I'm impressed with the quality and apparent relative ease of installation / use.

Yes. Tiki will detect duplicate URLs. Please see the docs.

Okay, I'll take a look at those, though I had looked at them briefly previosly and not found the information alluded to. Perhaps it was on one of the sub-pages? Good to know it can / does work that way. I'll poke around in the pages again and see what I can track down.

I didn't see a specific blow-by-blow description of how to setup RSS output from the directory (new links in timeframe Y, etc.)? But will keep searching. Any thoughts on the main idea, of getting RSS inputs to flow into the directory validation queue (granted this may make an endless stream of work for an admin; me)?

So far, things are looking up!

Regards,
~Michael

Addendum: I did find a reference to "tiki-directories_rss.php" on this page:
http://doc.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=Directory+Details&bl=y. But what is it, and how does one set it up / use it?
