Update: Serious problem with wysiwyg blog post 11.0beta - release blocker?

eromneg posts: 249 3 stars United Kingdom

For some reason the Wiki syntax option got switched on for wysiwyg - no idea
why - pretty sure it wasn't on before as I never use it.

Anyway switching this off fixes a lot of the issues and most blog posts are
now OK

But for at least one blog post - not checked them all yet (there are
hundreds!) I'm was still getting the system error when trying to resave the
post ie

Incorrect key file for table './tranmarlt9/tiki_blog_posts.MYI'; try to
repair it

But looking in detail at the database it looks like the table crashed at
some time - but fortunately it was 'repairable' - and this seems to have
fixed the problem

So all is OK :-)

sorry for the mini panic ! just a bit paranoid about wysiwyg usage

Subject: Serious problem with wysiwyg blog post 11.0beta - release blocker?

Hi - I've just done another 'test' upgrade to 11.0beta - but this time with
a site that has a lot of blogs

The upgrade itself went fine (went from 10.x) and only had to fiddle with
the css menus

But all the blog posts when displayed are showing the html tags

And when I go to edit the post it opens it as the wiki wysiwyg editor - but
the site is configured for full html wysiwyg

The post displays OK in the edit screen but when I save the post I then get
a system error

System error.

The following error message was returned:

Incorrect key file for table './tranmarlt9/tiki_blog_posts.MYI'; try to
repair it

The query was:

update `tiki_blog_posts` set
`blogId`=?,`data`=?,`excerpt`=?,`created`=?,`user`=?,`title`=?, `priv`=?,
`wysiwyg`=? where `postId`=?

I will investigate further and if a quick fix cannot be found I will post
the issue to the bug tracker - but thought I should post it here as a matter
of urgency since I believe this is probably a release blocker

On 3 prod tikis i moved to 11 articles, wikis and blogs are ok using only html.

However i still got an issue with the newsletters sent using modules.

IE :

I have articles in html + wysiwyg mode.
They show ok as articles
They show ok using module articles

They show HTML code while used in newsletter (auto-clipping option).

Overall Tiki 11 handle pretty well wysiwyg stuff… once you find the good setting. :-)
Sometimes it is necessary to switch page back to "Wiki Syntax" then back to "wysiwyg" because strains of old parameters.

The default for wysiwyg_htmltowiki did change from n to y in-between tiki 10 and 11, as generally it's been more reliable then the html option, even if a bit more limited in what users can do.

Maybe we need an upgrade script to double check that prefs stay the same if the default is changed...

I did do one for the search prefs change-over in 20130314_keep_search_pref_settings_tiki.php as it could lead to a totally unusable tiki (with innodb) - but do we really need to do one of these each time a default is changed?

Surely there's a better way?
