How to make Structures likes Confluence "Spaces" ?

posts: 3

Hi;

i´m new in here and i have installed a fresh installation of TikWiki - now i try to make such structures i know from Confluence. There they are called "Spaces" and these are something like wiki-document "roots" and whenever you make a new wiki-side in it it automatically makes a new menu-entry for every page.
How is this done in TikiWiki? At my fresh installation i mangaged to make new pages and give them categories but i don´t know how to manage the system that i every new page is has also a menu-entry in the left sided menu? And i need also to make subpages and so on - that at the end i have a tree-like menu and their pages...

thx!

You can use the Categories module to make a menu based on categories. Please see the docs for details.

If you're using Tiki structures, you can use the Menu module to create a menu based on the wiki structure. Please see the docs for details.

Thanks - but i read out of "menu based on the wiki structure" that i have to manually edit the Menu-structure every time i make a new sub-page/menu - am i wrong on that?
(@Confluence every new page is automatically a new menu-emtry and every new subpage will automatically add a new sub-menu in the menu-tree.)

Just to add some more detail:

I ) when you have activated the structures in /admin.php?page=wiki and configure the structures allright, you can create a structure from a wikipage.

The moment you have created a structure, Tiki automatically has the information needed to create the or the menu out of it.

II ) when you want a structure menu, you use the module "menu" (see: /tiki-admin_modules.php)

In the configuration of the module "menu" you can choose between a menu Id and a structure Id ... using the structure Id, you will get a magic automatic structure menu.

III ) to find out the structure Id, for example click onto the structure symbol top left of a "structured" page (sending you to the structures admin panel) and then find a button "structures" to find a list of existing structures and structure Id numbers.

Cheers,
