SolidWizards is a site dedicated to the SolidWorks Professional. It is a collaborative environment that contains a powerful CMS (Content Management System) and a rather extensive list of features. The site was created to be a resource for a SolidWorks User, by functioning as a repository for Macros and Code Snippets. Like all good ideas, this one rapidly expanded to include:
- Forums - For SolidWorks, SolidWorks API and PhotoWorks - Of course, there are also the Site-Related Forums as well.
- File Galleries - Upload / Download Macros, Excel Spreadsheets, Templates, whatever you like. The site is not a repository for every model imaginable, but if a model will help explain something - members should feel free to upload them. Click Here to View.
- Image Galleries - Ever wanted a place to show off your latest Masterpiece? Upload an image to our Image Gallery. We have a Gallery dedicated to Masterpieces. Others will be created as needed.
- Directories - Links to everything. SolidWorks VARs, SolidWorks User Groups, Engineering Resources, Manufactures - the list keeps growing - so help it grow! Add your favorite places and let us know why you like them.
- eMail - Use your own POP3 account or request one from us like Grandalf@SolidWizards.com. SolidWizards is fairly new, so you can be Gandalf, Merlin, or almost anyone you want to be (this page will not be updated when those names are taken).
- Chat - You can enter our Testing Chat-Room at Click Here to play with the chat system. Note: Not very many people use this Chat-Room so you might want to invite a friend to join you - unless you want to chat with yourself that is ;-)
- Blogs - A Blog is a web based Journal or Diary - Every member is allowed to create Blogs (either public or private) which can be accessed through this site or with the use of a desktop applications (several Free programs are listed).
- Wiki Pages - This site revolves around the CMS and Wiki Pages. A Wiki is an easy way to create & edit web pages without having to learn HTML. Any member can create as many pages as desired - on any topic. Most pages will relate to SolidWorks but almost any topic is allowed. To view an example of a Wiki Page, Click Here).
- Articles - are used to provide the site with News that every member will see when they login. Members are invited to submit Articles whenever they have something for general broadcast. Some good examples might include uploaded Macros, finished Wiki Pages, a Quiz, or Survey. Again - almost anything reasonable will be allowed.
- This is just the tip of the iceberg folks - there is more inside and more to come.
Hopefully, you will find all of this easy to use. SolidWizards was created using Tiki CMS/Groupware (aka TikiWiki). For more information see
