Mozilla Theme BADLY Broken

So I installed the new 1.7 and decided to test-drive some of the new themes. I selected mozilla.css and applied it. Lo and behold:

Warning: Smarty error: unable to read template resource:
"styles/mozilla/tiki.tpl" in
/var/www/html/tiki17/Smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 999

It broke my entire Tiki installation, I was unable to access any page without getting this error, which means I was unable to change the theme back! I had to manually change my theme preference row in the database in order to recover.

This is VERY shoddy work. It's one thing to release a theme that might look funny in some browsers. It's entirely another to ship with a theme that is guaranteed to break your Tiki if you select it!

I highly recommend an update with broken themes either fixed or removed. I have not tested any other themes, so I do not know if any others are as broken as this one.

I love Tiki, but this really ticks me off!evil

Whoa there. The Mozilla theme works fine for me. I would guess that you have a problem with a file permission somewhere. Make sure Tiki and I think in this case Apache can get at the referenced files.

Seems odd though as I see no "styles/mozilla/tiki.tpl" in my installation - did you cut and paste this error message?

Now switching themes sems to take two attempts, a little annoying, but how often will I be switching themes?

HTH,

Scott

Okay, I have seen this now. It affected a non-admin user, but not the admin user. This meant that I could easily change the theme back again.

Perhaps someone "in the know" can post a technique that Vince could have used to switch themes without logging in (I assume there would be aetting stored somewhere).

In summary, I have confirmed that the Mozilla theme is indeed broken. In my case I hade to use the system as a different user in order to see the problem.

Cheers,

Scott

I had the same problem. To fix it a copied a theme from the style folder and renamed it to mozilla. Then I change the theme to a different one. This problem is not cool and should never happen.

I have had this problem with my admin user.
The settings were stored in the MySQL-Database in the table tiki_user_preferences.
By editing the contents of this table (with mysqlcc in my case) you can make Tiki usable again.

I have the same error

Warning: Smarty error: unable to read template resource: "styles/mozilla/tiki.tpl" in /var/www/html/tiki-1.7/Smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 999

it is not easily apparant how to fix. I selected the theme logged in as an admin, so I see nothing in tiki_user_preferences I did try the technic listed here: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=782608&group_id=64258&atid=506846 and that didnt work for me. Going to try renamimg a theme again. very strange way to error. Is there no way to trap and revert?

sigh! I do love Tiki though (love hate kinda thing)twisted

OK, I copied default theme folder and default css file and renamed them both to mozilla. this did not fix the error either. I guess I will reinstall. Any other ideas welcome. I'm more of a network guy than I'll ever be a developer / script kind of guy.redface
