    I would like to adjust the view tracker and view tracker item templates so that when a user selects an item in the tracker item list, it takes them to "view" and if the do get around this,the comment blocks don't show up unless the appropriate tab is selected. I've messed around with the template but can't get anything to work. Suggestions appreciated!

    General rules about modifying templates:
    - check you are modifying the one used by you theme. For instance if you theme is moreneat it is possible that there is a templates/styles/moreneat/tiki-view_tracker.tpl . In this case the templates/tiki-view_tracker.tpl will not be considerer
    - sometimes you need to clean the smarty cache : admin->system->templates_c

    About selecting a tracker item and going on the modif form tab and not the display form tab ... seems to be a bug for me.. I changed it in cvs 1.9
