Tracker and RSS

posts: 5

I tried to set this up - which url do I use as the RSS feed? I tried http://10.34.2.230/tiki/tiki-tracker_rss.php?trackerId=1 in which I have several items. However, I get no feends (only an "empty" message, and I am using Abilon).

Would LOVE to be able to use this feature, and I am planning to write a sort of HOWTO on my experience with trackers and their usefulness in corporate intranets.

Right now, there seem to be a problem in your server: http://10.34.2.230
Try to add your url to a browser and see the results.

I have no other idea about RSS and trackers..., I haven't tried this feature yet.

Currently you need a field in your tracker that is called like one of these:

- subject
- summary
- name
- title
- topic

The feed generator checks if any of those can be found. The first one found (check is done in the order given above) is used as description. If none of them is found, the rss list only contains empty descriptions.

If you are using the modules, you can define what field shall be used:

{MODULE(module=>last_tracker_items,nonums=n,trackerId=3,name=>Name)}{MODULE}

{MODULE(module=>last_modif_tracker_items,trackerId=5,name=Summary)}{MODULE}

Hi Oliver!

How about making this configurable in tiki-admin.php?page=rss ?

Thanks!

Adding a "Name" field worked - thanks! Now I get a list of all of the trackers in my RSS reader, but clicking on the link doesn't take me to the tracker page. However, this isn't hugely important.

BTW, do you know how to use the ratings functionality in trackers? I can't get this to work.

Thanks again!
