CMS/Articles Questions

Hi!

Great product! I am trying to use this for a education based nonprofit with volunteers that work globally, all submitting articles about how he/she has helped someone in a developing world.. In trying to use Tiki for this, I have some questions and would appreciate your help:

1) What is the difference between a category and structure? I have played with them and it appears tough to discern. Which should I use to classify my news articles?

Ideally on the left nav bar, I want to see
Poverty
Africa
Children
And my stories will show up under Children.

2) It appears that submissions can only be associated to topics. What if I have a tree or heirarchy of classification. How do I associate those submissions to the tree classification. Can I submit an article under say,
Poverty
Africa
Children

3) Do I have to enable the workflow Galaxia engine to make it so that an editor can approve content that volunteers write before it is published to the web? Or is there a simpler way to do this?

Thanks!

1) A Structure is a collection of interlinked wiki pages.
A Category is recursively nestable, and can have anything in it.
The left Nav Bar (when making a menu) to my knowledge only supports one level of nesting. Items in a menu are either a "Section" or an "Option". Both are links, but a Section can be expanded (or start out expanded, ideally, though my site has a problem with that).

2) Trees of classification can be done with the "Categories" option. Editing categories is an option within the admin section. One item can be in multiple categories, which I find useful.
So - I can have a forum, I.e., "Dolphins", in two categories:

Animals
Mammals
