Brackets in Pagename

posts: 5 Germany

alo.

I am setting up a new really nice tikiwiki for
our site. I was updating to 1.9.2. Before we were using
a previous version which allowed us to use pagenmase like
pagename (category). The reference to those pages worked like
this pagename (category). As long as there was a space or
any other character between the last two brackets an the inner
ones, it linked correct. Not anymore. 1.9.2 seems to disabled that
feature. Is there any other way i can link to pages that name contains
brackets?

thank you

Hi;

Here is one solution. I added the "other Ideas" bit in the title because I think there may be an other way to do this. As noted below. Hummm, my other ideas bit does not show up in the main link. Perhaps you could add that if you want more help.

I would guess that you could add a special symbol to replace the space but I do not know what.

However, you could also do this.

[tiki-index.php?page=pagename (category)|pagename (category)]

not the best solution because backlings are not recognized like this.
I found the change which results into that behaviour though:

tiki-setup.php line 1132

was in previous versions
$page_regex = '([^|\(\)])([^|](?!\)\)))*?([^|\(\)])';
now is
$page_regex = '([^|\(\)])([^|\(\)](?!\)\)))*?([^|\(\)])';

what was the reason for changing this? thanks a lot guys.
you are doing great work here.

Hi David;

Glad you worked this out. Sorry I am a not really able to understand deep code issues. So, I do work arounds. (and minor tweaks if I can)

I think that this is something that maybe should be added to the dev.tikiwiki.org bug tracker. Otherwise this fix could well be missed by the devs. I will leave that to you or others as I am not sure how to address the question.

Best to you, James
