LDAP password changes doesn't change in Wiki

United States

I'm using v2.2 with LDAP:PEAR authentication. New users are properly registered and created in the Tiki environment. I'm using groups as a means to limit permissions and so I've had to create Tiki users upon first authentication.

Our users are required to change passwords on the tree used for LDAP:PEAR authentication every 60 days. When they do, the password change is not recognized by Tiki and they must supply the original password they used when they were first registered within Tiki.

How do I configure Tiki to use LDAP authentication so passwords are used properly?

Thanks,

Bart

Bart, this doesn't make any sense (not your question-the results your are seeing!)

Tiki doesn't cache LDAP passwords in any way. Auth is a pass-through. So if my knowledge of the login process is correct, I would suspect your config. Any chance you could screen capture the Login admin page so we can review it?

I have the screenshots. How do I upload the files?

Bart, you should be able to load them into the image gallery (see menu on left) and link to them in your message. Or if you have someplace to post them on the web I'll be glad to take a look.

I've uploaded the images to MSRS Tiki LDAP Configuration under the Tiki Screenshots Image gallery

OK, I looked at the screenshots and I don't see anything wrong. So let me ask you this. Have you been able to reproduce this bahavior with a test user account?

  • create a new account
  • login to tiki
  • logout
  • Change LDAP password
  • login to tiki with new password
  • login to tiki with old password

If that all works, try looking at the users_users database table in tiki and deleting the password for the test user and retrying the test.

Sorry for the wild goose chase, but I've not seen this and am a loss for what might cause it.

Greg,

I'm using Firefox 3.0.4. I clear the cache, authenticated sessions and cookies before starting. My test user is tester with a password of tester.

When I first login to the wiki with tester/tester, I get the following error:
You have to enable cookies to be able to login to this site
You are not logged in. Go to Login Page

When I Go to the Login page and enter tester/tester, I am now logged in.

Now the really wierd thing. My password was testing. I get the same results if I follow this process with tester/testing.

Thanks for your help,

Bart
