thanx, Garry

I tried to reinstall the googlecalendar wikiplugin today. I got the same message again. I tried it with some of the other plugins and features and got the some thing. Any guess why? thanks.

Sorry, I don't have time right now to do any tests, but in general if there is trouble installing a mod using the Admin Mods page (and there often is), the alternative is to get the files from the ))SourceForge(( repository with your browser and upload them to the appropriate places in your Tiki's files; wiki plugins go into lib/wiki-plugins, for example.

Once the files are in place, then whether they work or not (many mods files haven't been maintained for a long time) is another question.

Maybe somebody else has tried the google calendar mod lately and can help out here.

Hi balloon_umich (hi Gary) & welcome to Tikiwiki Community! wink

To complement Gary's answer, you can also try installing mods by hand using the tgz file from mods.tw.o itself.
http://doc.tikiwiki.org/Mods (see "Manual install" info)

I haven't tried that specific mod myself. good luck, and report back if you find any further issues.

Cheers

There's no tgz file associated with this plugin, though, only the wikiplugin_googlecalendar.php file itself, so it seems the failure of the mods transfer is causing the error with the file name. So if the error message is the same, then something in the plugin installation procedure is wrong.

I manually transferred wikiplugin_googlecalendar.php to my lib/wiki-plugins directory and it appears to work. (Well, I didn't have a correct calendar id to input as a parameter so didn't get very far, but it looks like it'd function if the info was correct.) Update: I made a calendar at my Google account and added the info as the plugin parameter and now it works normally, as far as I can tell.

Thanks xavi and Gary,

how do I access the lib/wiki-plugins directory on the website? Do I need access to the computer that tikiwiki is installed on to make this change?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, you need either ftp access, or a file manager at the site (if it's a hosted site with cpanel or such software) - anyway some way to see the Tiki file directory and transfer a file to it.
