    Hello,

    I am not at all sure that I will be able to send this message.

    When I try to send a message ten hours ago I obtain this error :

    Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1491648 bytes) in /var/www/tikiwiki.org/setup_smarty.php on line 172

    Hello,

    The crash which remains is not "on sending" because the messages appears into the forum, but on the next sequence.

    I have no explanation

    It happens occasionally and means the server needs more PHP memory allocated.

    Hello,

    Thank's but this was clear, I manage myself several APACHE servers.

    The questions are :

    • why so many memory
    • The complementary request seems normal
    • Why not to enhance the memory allocation by setting the right parameter (this parameter can be on some servers be change till a limit into the .htaccess file, either into Apache httpd.conf)


    Thank's for your answer which launches the subject, to which the TikiWiki team will find a quick solution.

    Nevertheless, this type of problem, can be sometime quite a deadlock, this because some shared-servers have a memory limit which can't be changed and you can have, then, no either solution than to go to a special reserved server.

    This type of problem can occurs to the TIKIWIKI users, depending of the function and options activated
