Do we have to pay for help / advice

I was just wondering if there are regular staff / moderators etcwho help out on the forums or if I need to pay to get a help?

I've been a user of php nuke for many years before converting to tiki and so used to getting alot of help and support from the php nuke developers with ease, but it seems that its not so easy on these forums and i don't usually find the replies to be very helpful.

I understand I've probably posted one of my posts on the wrong forum so if that's the reason i'm not getting any help, can a moderator move the post to the correct forum?

If I have to pay... can someone direct me to a list of charges so I can consider this - I'm using this cms for hobby sites and I'm not making an $ from its use so it would have to cheap otherwise I may have to consider something else. I have previously donated money to the php nuke community when I have found help useful and forthcoming and I'm willing to do this as well if I can find the same / some level of support.

In general free support is available from an irc channel @ freenode.net (#tikiwiki) and a mailinglist. If special support is needed you can hire a pro.

I'll try posting this reply again as I got an error the first time... :-(

Do you have the mailing list address? (I don't have access to IRC at present.)

FYI - the link to the mailing lists in teh top menu of the site redirected me back to tikiwiki.org index page and I couldn't find any mailing lists....

Will you please indicate the post? Feedback is appreciated so we can improve things.

It would be helpful to know what post you are referring to.

Actually, there aren't any official moderators in these forums. I guess the wiki ethos of Tikiwiki even applies here. Well, there's a handful of people who have admin access but as far as forums are concerned that mainly means we delete spam from time to time. Whoever has an answer for somebody with a question should just step in and help. I've gotten into the habit of checking the forums and replying when I can help, but I'd sure like to see more people doing that, if they have the time and a bit of experience with Tiki to draw on. The forums here are pretty laid back so don't expect an answer quickly, necessarily, and if none turn up at all, try the IRC channel (again, be patient as not everyone logged on there monitors the channel constantly) or the mailing lists - Mailing lists. And welcome to Tiki! smile
