Issue with cookies/logging in

We have LDAP setup and it works perfectly, when you go to the website directly. We have another website (our intranet) that uses Active Directory login as well. They are both on the same domain name (i.e. intranet.*.com and wiki.*.com).

Here is the issue, we have setup a link from the intranet that is used the most by users to promote the Wiki site. When users login to the intranet with their ID and pass, then click the link, once they put in the user ID and pass again, this time for the Wiki site (the right login page), but once the log in button is hit, it will goback to the itranet instead of the home page for Wiki. So they would click the link again to get into the Wiki.

I think the cookies are from the same domain, could it be getting confused? Or another theory is the login algorythm for the Wiki uses something form the history of the browser or something?

Any help would be appreciated.
