How can I limit view of HISTORY

On a WIKI page, is there a way to limit who is able to view a pages "history"?

I didn't see any type of "permission" that I could assign a group. I would like to use history - but prevent anon users from seeing it.

Any way to do this?

Thanks!

Hi,

I tried it several days before.

I find only one chance to switch off history:

  • Admin->wiki settings, uncheck history

The problem is, that all users see or don't see history. There is a new permission missing - tiki_p_wiki_view_history.

This is a new feature. Do you know if there is a plan to add this in a future release?

A quick thought that I had was that you could remove the history reference (tiki-pagehistory.php) in the wiki page tpl. (You may have to change this in the templete of the theame you are using) Not sure off the top of my head which tpl it is but should be easy to find.

Then you would be able to see the history by using the list pages link in your admin menu. (whos perms you can control) Or use this link yousite.com/tiki/tiki-listpages.php which you could give to who ever.
However this still leaves you open to anybody using the above link should they come across it. Again there seems to be no perms for the listing pages function.

What is you concern, that people can see the history or the button itself (that could be bloating the interface)?
In any case there are very few plans about Tiki improvements, and there's certainly not one about that.

What do you mean with "very few plans about Tiki improvements"?

Is there a detailed roadmap or a feature plan for the next releases, where I can see the future improvement?

It is more about the "bloat" on the interface. I like the clean look of tikiwiki.org without the history button, but would like it "available" to the developer group.

I can take it out of the tpl (as someone suggested). Thanks.

Hi, I agree with you about bloat. We have been doing some tests on changing this to reduce clutter.

I never thought about the fact that the history was there for all to see. When you brought this to mind for me it got me thinking. I may end up removing it from all my sites!

If you would like to see how we got rid of the history thing in one test, head over to this address.

This gives a brief description of what the job requires for those who have no idea about what we are talking about.
