Captcha image not displaying

The Captcha image isn't displaying properly for new users to register:

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden) http://communistplannedww2.com/temp/public/b5d70e067d54e66b57425cf58b9bf5f7.captcha.png
event.returnValue is deprecated. Please use the standard event.preventDefault() instead.

I'm very new to this and have searched for an answer. Any help most welcome.

Host says:

This was due to a restrictive policy set in the directories .htaccess file denying all access to the directory's contents:

root@gator3026 /home2/markr/public_html/temp# cat /home2/markr/public_html/temp/.htaccess

order deny,allow
deny from all

We adjusted the directories restrictions to allow access to the Captcha Images while keeping the directory locked down:

root@gator3026 /home2/markr/public_html/temp# cat /home2/markr/public_html/temp/.htaccess
Options -Indexes -ExecCGI

Order Allow,Deny
Deny from all

If we can be of further assistance please let us know.

Mark, welcome!

You need to use the full .htaccess provided by Tiki.
If it's not done automagically for you in your host, then you need to do it manually: rename your .htaccess file to something like .htaccess_host, and then, rename your _htaccess file (provided by Tiki) to .htaccess.

Otherwise, some features of Tiki may not work properly.

Hi Xavi

Thanks for your reply. I just changed files as you said. Seems to work fine, but had to reset the host version of PHP to current as they were on v5.3.

Thanks for your help. Very much appreciated.

Oops. They were on v5.2.
