Trying to Add Black Back Ground at Top of Tiki Site

United States

Tiki14.2
InnoDb
Dear folks, I want to duplicate the background from our forum community at http://thepatriotwoodworker.com/
As you can see at our test wiki http://tpwtestuser.com/tiki/HomePage I have the black band at the top module as default by the Standard bootstrap in themes. Now in the back ground I just want to put a black strip behind it. I am having a hard time duplicating the black band width at the top, any guidance would sure be appreciated!
Thank you

Hi John,

You can give the HTML body an inset box shadow (imagine a shape like a baking pan that has a light outside and above the top so it casts a shadow - of the top edge of the pan - into the pan).

See http://www.cssmatic.com/box-shadow. The horizontal length is 0 (so there's no offset to the left or right). The vertical length is 195px (I just measured the background area on your forums page.). Since you want a sharp edge on the "shadow", there's no spread or blur radius. And it's an inset shadow, so it's within the body .

I played with the sliders and got this:

body {
-webkit-box-shadow: inset 0 195px 0 0 rgba(0,0,0,1);
-moz-box-shadow: inset 0 195px 0 0 rgba(0,0,0,1);
box-shadow: inset 0 195px 0 0 rgba(0,0,0,1);
}

So that can go into your style sheet or Look and Feel custom CSS.
