How do I get adsense working?

posts: 6 Australia

I've been trying for a couple of days now to get adsense ads working but I can't get them to work no matter what I do.

None of the methods in the documentation here work: https://doc.tiki.org/AdSense

The closest I've come to getting them to work is by creating a custom module then adding the HTML tags around the script and then selecting parse using Wiki Markup.

Like this:

Copy to clipboard
{HTML()} <script async src="//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script> <!-- xxxxxxxxx.com320x100 --> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:inline-block;width:320px;height:100px" data-ad-client="ca-pub-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" data-ad-slot="xxxxxxxxxx"></ins> <script> (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); </script> {HTML}

Then I assign the Module to a position.

The plugin gives a warning and I have clicked to accept the plugin.

Then nothing displays. I can't see the ad.

When I do a View Source on the page I can see the script there ok, it just doesn't seem to execute.

Can anyone help me out here?

tripspec, sometimes it takes quite awhile for the adsense instance to catch up. It's been awhile since I used adsense, but when I did, it could take up to a half hour before the graphic or box would show. And if your page is cached, then you really have to wait. I would go ahead and try it again, then revisit the page an hour later, also dump the cache in your wiki after you install adsense by control panel/tools/system cache and empty it, or at tiki-admin_system.php
I have never had an adsense show up instantly.

Thanks for the reply, I understand it takes some time for the ads to display.

It turns out I had Firefox's Tracking Protection enabled and that was blocking the ads.

I hope this thread helps someone else out!
