The translation manager is the person responsible of a full translation process. It is more or less comparable to an Editor role in monolingual sites.

A full translation process will include:

  • Definition of the translation unit, i.e. things to be published together
  • Definition of schedules
  • Recruitment and management of translators
  • Recruitment and management of proofreaders
  • Feedback for translators


In case of commercial activities it will include contact with client (including inside company) and management of prices, in case of non-profits it will most often imply a participation to the international development of the relevant activity.
