If the ones you are having trouble with have images on them, you probably havent set on Admin->General the servername property, or your webserver is unable to lookup itself in DNS.
Most of the PDF lib is for really basic wiki syntaxes. There are a number of fixes already in the latest 1.9 CVS ready for its release Dec/Jan time.
