The failure to scroll could be related to a theme vs browser issue. Hitting tiki-admin.php?page=general in your addy bar, would jump you in the the area to change the theme.
The search is a little iffy, I dont really like it, I prefer the search by page name module, but you need to have a little understanding about the naming of pages.
Google site:tikiwiki.org is also very good.
