I'm not aware of any themes that show breadcrumb links horizontally outside of the normal module box, and I look at all the bundled Tiki themes from time to time. Is it possible you saw a customized theme where someone had put breadcrumbs code in a modified template?
Structures will create a breadcrumbs effect if your structure hierarchy is more than one layer deep and the visitor goes down the links. If a site's wiki pages were all in connected structures, there would be horizontal breadcrumb links at the top of all wiki pages, which would be an interesting organizing idea, especially combined with categories.
