Weird.... It's now June 2005, nearly two years later, and this problem still exists. 'Very little information on it (here, google, anywhere...)
I haven't tried registering a user... I see the fsockopen problem when I use webmail and mailin. In my case, it is a time out problem (but I had to hack the code to get this message to print out.)
Again, I've tried two different email accounts at two different ISPs.
I remember I got the mail in to work once under a differnet tiki installation.
Fortunately, there is a project underway to replace all the mail-related code.... I think.

> Every time I try to signup as a new "dummy" user, I get the following error:
> Warning: fsockopen() function.fsockopen: php_hostconnect: connect failed in /home/www/MYDOMAIN/lib/registration/registrationlib.php on line 75
> Warning: fsockopen() function.fsockopen: unable to connect to mail.ANYWEBSITE.com:25 in /home/www/MYDOMAIN/lib/registration/registrationlib.php on line 75
> Anyone know why?
