I'm not sure what criteria is applied to the images being displayed on the test page that you link to, if any. Are these simply random photos displayed with CPMFetch? If so, Tiki has a random image module that might work, to display a thumbnail at least. Something new might have to be made to display a full-size random image. Could you give more detail about how the images need to be selected — random, random from a specified gallery, what logic if any needs to be applied, etc.?

A plugin is probably the best way to do what you are describing, since it can have php code and would be the most convenient for the page author.
