Re: Where to Start?

See the Quickstart guide for the basics.

You access Tiki by browsing to the address at your domain where it's installed — either in the web root or in a directory/folder. Initially you can log in as admin with the password admin. You'll be prompted immediately to change the password.

Then you should see a bare-looking Tiki front page. There will be a menu in the left column where you (as admin) will see links to administration pages. Probably the first things to do are activate the features you want to use, decide what you want anonymous and registered users to be able to see, edit, use, etc., and decide what modules you want to appear in the side columns.

One thing about Tiki that's both a blessing and a curse is that there are many, many configuration choices you can make.

As for starting a wiki, one way is to edit the HomePage and put a link in it to a new page. Then you can use that link to edit the new page. This is covered in the docs.

There are specific pages at doc.tikiwiki.org covering most of these details. If you have questions, ask in the Features/Usability forum.
