Re: Problem with Themes

Japan

What theme were you using before the upgrade, and what theme now? There are a number of themes bundled with Tiki, maybe the theme preference got changed during the upgrade or something.

It's a custom theme altough I've no idea whether it has replaced an original tiki theme or if it has been created from scratch and saved as an entirely new theme. After I preformed the upgrade, tiki used the default theme. I then copied the templates and tamplates_c folders from the old install and that partly changed the theme but not all of it! The background changed and the head of the page changed but the rest of the page looks like there is no css being applied at all!

Any ideas? Thanks!

So when you check Admin > General, it shows that the theme being used is the custom theme, as before?

It wasn't necessary to transfer the templates_c folders; they contain page caches and in fact you should empty them using the System Admin Exterminator (tiki-admin_system.php). Sometimes flushing out the caches fixes theme-related problems.

If the theme is the same one as before, and the caches are flushed, and there are still problems, the next step is probably to look at the particular parts of the pages that aren't styled right and see what the stylesheet being used specifies for them.

One way to do this is to look at the page source using your browser ("view source" or whatever). Find what divs are involved and then find them in the theme's CSS file. If there is some incongruity, then the stylesheet probably needs updating. Maybe some selectors changed between the two Tiki versions.

If you still are having problems, post again with URLs, stylesheet details, etc. — whatever will help zero in on the problem.
