I made the divfloating plugin (download link) a few years ago when the div plugin had fewer parameters than it does now. With divfloating you can set width, background, border, align, padding, margin, float, and clear. With the latest div plugin you can set class, width, background, align, float, and also it can be used to designate one of these elements: span, pre, b, i, tt, p, and blockquote. When the divfloating plugin was made, the div plugin was quite a bit more basic. Now the class parameter can be used to get properties from the CSS file, so anything can be specified that's valid CSS.

I haven't actually looked at the divfloating plugin recently to see how compatible it is with current Tiki versions. I guess it's still OK.

Well, if your Tiki files are in place and you are using the right syntax with the plugin, it will work. It's pretty much a "no moving parts" kind of a thing.
