Make sure you unzipped all the files. A 404 means that the file is missing.

You said you're on XP, right? Verify that your local webserver is working. Are you using Apache? IIs? Something else? You might want to review the docs for additional info.

Hmm

I uploaded all files and got the same message - I can see all files via ftp either from a xp or suse linux box. I set all the right permissions via my suse box. And still tiki-install.php or any other file's missing. I installed 5 times via xp and suse linux - same result. 404 error.

I even unzipped onto a pen drive transfered files to the xp and uploaded via firefox ftp. Then via suse Konqueror ftp checked the files via ftp checked and changed permissions - can even see them all with mc!

Still 404!

Nothing like replying to one's own post :-)

I dcided to explore my host server - no phcp.ini in /etc - I thoight perrhaps no php installed. But via cpanel I tried to install some php packages. The bad news is that it does not support sub-domains - I decied to put my gbenet.com on my other halfs site as she had some much space.

It seems that though I can copy all the files set all the permissions - php will not run on a sub-domain - thouh I can create a database! Oh well I will have to move gbenet.com before using your software!
