There is a way. If something is missing from the basic wiki syntax, one solution is to use a plugin. A few years ago, like you, I wanted more styling control over images on wiki pages, so I made an "IMGSTYLED" plugin (adapted from an existing plugin but I can't remember now which). Please see http://zukakakina.com/wikiplugin_imgstyled where this is demonstrated and available to download. This plugin is just one solution; if I did something similar again, I would do it differently. But it shows the possibilities.
My Tiki sites don't have HTML enabled; kind of as a principle, everything is done with wiki syntax and plugins.
Another method which could be a solution is to add a margin property to images in wikitext in the theme's stylesheet, like
.wikitext img {margin: 6px}
Of course, this will affect every image in the wikitext div, even smileys, etc., so may not be practical if you use those.
