    I have a GROUP named Authors.

    I have a CATEGORY named Draft that includes Wiki pages.

    How can I grant all authors tiki_p_edit permission to all wiki pages in the draft category (but not allow them to have edit access to other categories)?

    Currently, I'm having to manually assign tiki_p_edit to each page on a one-by-one basis (of course, I then have to grant tiki_p_view to Anonymous, etc.

    Surely there's an easier way?

    You can do that if you use workspaces feature...
    Create one workpsace for fun, play with and get used with it. Then prepare you draft workspace, add permissions to the kind of template, and then create the Draft workspace, and add your users to that workspace. This should work (workspaces take care of permissions).
