Re: tikiWiki - major features to be introduced within the next 5 years
Five years out is a long way ahead to plan. This is a collaborative project by volunteers who come and go or work on as they have time so long-term planning is probably not workable.
In the past TikiWiki's features were determined pretty much by the interest of individual contributors with not too much advance planning as far as I know. But this seems to be changing now as there is more interest to plan a roadmap (http://dev.tikiwiki.org/RoadMap) which mentions a few things. At the least features that in version 2.0 are marked experimental like Ajax and WYSIWYG editing will become stable within the next release or so.
