show/hide open a page with a side menu closed

Hey gang,

I need some pages to open with one of the menus closed. Most of the site needs 2 menus, but some pages have wide content so only one will do.

Can't ask the visitors to discover all interface niceities like show/hide buttons on first visit etc, and besides, who would want to make his visitors work so hard as to click a button to remove something that shouldn't be there?

No, I say. Unacceptable. I want to open certain windows with only one menu.

But how? Howwwwwwww?

Thanks.

I am offering one free psychic (doughnut with sprinkles and a mug of Granny's famous Irish Cocoa) to the first correct answer.

Those docs refer to an option "Layout Per Section", which does not exist in my installation (3.0) at

tiki-admin.php?page=look

All there is is

display left or right always/never/user decides

It exists if the installation process was normal. It should be the third item down, under the "Other" tab, on tiki-admin.php?page=look.

Having trouble with this. My understanding is:

1) I have to globally set left and right menus to show "never" in page=look
2) manually turn them on for each section I wish to show menus on in admin-layout-by-section
3) user loses ability to control menus at will

Which seems rather clumsy as there are really only a couple of pages I wish to show with no menus and the user is stuck without options for the rest.

Also when I proceeded as above... I set a section to show menus. I had a look and it worked. I went back to admin again and the section selectors I had checked earlier do not appear. i.e. the whole page shows all selectors (bars too, not just menus) for all sections as unchecked = no visual display of what's enabled. An no idea if the options have all defaulted back to "never"...

Thanks.

Other AH, ok, Here it is...miscellaneous. Much thanks. The docs page seems to show it co-located same page with the other controls

So many buttons, so little time ;-)

Say, while I have you on the phone...I just exported the group admins from tiki-admingroups.php (checked username/email/login) and tried to import it to another installation via tiki-adminusers which complained "The file does not have the required header: login, email, password, groups". I don't see any other export options but to click what I clicked when I exported, so what am I missing here? If I try to import via tiki-admingroups.php?group=Admins is complains "User doesn't exist: etc." which I take to mean it was trying to just assign permissions from the csv, not the users themselves.

The idea of course is I want to move all my users from one installation to another, permissions groups, logins and all. In one fell swoop if possible.
