Re: Phplayers menu shows twice

Japan

Hmm. I checked by making sure a site was updated to Tiki 3.2, then made a new PHP Layers menu. I assigned this menu to the topbar, on the Look and Feel admin page, and made a new module and assigned the same menu to this module. Un-assigning the module had no effect on the topbar menu.

I re-assigned the module with that menu to the left column, and then changed the topbar menu ID to another menu, and there was no change in the side-column menu; it still displayed the previous menu.

Well, this is the expected behavior. The information for the topbar menu and the menus in modules are stored in different places in the database, so it's hard to see how changing one would have any effect on the other.

In this test, I used the standard methods for configuring the top bar menu on the Look and Feel Admin page (just turning on "Top Bar" and "Site Menu Bar", and entering the menu id number); I didn't use custom code in any way. Is this the same way you made your top menu?

By the way, PHP Layers menus will be phased out, with Superfish CSS menus taking their place, probably before the release of Tiki 5 next spring. If this problem continues, you might want to see if switching to CSS menus has any effect.
