Yes, Tiki should work well for that purpose. The wiki has versioning (page history) and permissions can be granted to control what users have access to.

One issue is how well your users will take to wiki editing, since it has its own syntax. Tiki does have a wysiwyg editor, which may suit the users better. You could check out the current demo to see how that editor works and if its suitable for your documents and user abilities and preferences.

As far as I know, the calendar should be useful, but I don't use it much myself so can't say in detail.
