This being said (categ permissions for wiki pages work well AFAIK), we are aware that category permissions have some issues with some features in Tiki5. (ex.: forums)
The workaround is to simply give object permissions to that forum. (Unless you have hundreds of forums, this is manageable)
Nonetheless, we are working to resolve all of these for Tiki6. Please help find issues:
