how to get out of maintenance mode / cannot login anymore

Hey guys,

just installed TikkiWiki 6.2 and went through the settings and well I guess I ticked a box I shouldn't have ....

I was trying to make the site only accesible for registered users, but now all I get is a maintenance page with a login screen, but none of my logins work anymore for that. Not even the admin account I installed it with.

Which table to I need to alter how to be able to access the site again and what do I need to tick in order to only have registered users able to view the contents?

thanks a lot for your help ... very much appreciated

cheers
Ron

You can enable/disable most preferences from the tiki-preferences database table. I don't know the exact preference name for "close site" option, but it shouldn't be too difficult to figure out.

You might find this doc helpful, too.

Hi Rick,

thanx a lot for the quick reply.
setting "site_closed" back to "n" fixed it indeed.

cheers

Hm, I seem to have the same problem, after upgrading from 1.9.8.3 directly to 6.7 LTS. I closed my Tiki for maintenance before duplicating the database, and now I cannot re-open. I set tiki_preferences/site_closed to n and I also reset the admin pwd, and it's still closed...

If you could login (try another browser), I suggest you empty the cache at tiki-admin_system.php?do=all

If not, try to re-run the installer

If that still doesn't work, look for cache looking files in
temp/cache/*
temp/public/*

I'm having this same problem. I was going through TikiWiki for Smarties and check the box to close site for maintenance, but now I can't sign in at all.

I'm a first time user so I have no idea what to do...

Hi,
I my case this resolved to being a hiccup in the browser or a cookie issue. Switching to another browser on another OS 'cured' the issue and maintenance mode was over.

I tried to access the doc mentioned by Ricks, but got a 404
