In index.php i get:
Unable to login to the MySql database 'tiki'on 'localhost' as user 'root'
Go here to begin the installation process, if you haven't done so already

DB Error: not found

i'm getting this in the tiki-install.php
-----------------
Tiki cannot find a database connection
Please enter your database info
Host: localhost
User: (i type here 'root')
Pass:
Database Name: (i type here 'tiki')

Send
-----------------

I'm new in the whole mysql thing, i've created a db with
'#mysqladmin create tiki' and in phpMyAdmin too, didn't use a pass. The database is in /var/lib/mysql/tiki/ and the tikiwiki folder is in /var/www/html/tikiwiki/ .
Anybody can help me with this

Which version of Tiki are you using?

There is a thread somewhere in the forum about a release of linux needing changes to my.cnf. What release are you on?

I would suggest to try and jump on #tikiwiki on IRC. It sounds to me like somewhere your php and mysql is not setup correctly. Id need details of the phpinfo to be able to see whats going on now.

Look in phpinfo for a mysql section. and copy/paste the details here

Ta!
