Hi Stefan:
Try increasing the memory_limit in php (try with 128Mb). You can do so in most servers just by tweaking the contents of .htaccess in the tiki root folder.
And check the http://doc.tiki.org/Upgrade in case there are other known issues related to this (not that I know of, so far, but who knows).
