Ubuntu 13.10 / Firefox 25.0 / tiki 11.1 and yes: I gave it a try again and it is the same mess. If you just open a wiki page with wysiwyg editor and save it (even with no change at all) it gets these huge line breaks.
I checked code, as you proposed, and saw that wysiwyg editor adds tons of br and p html markers (with their brackets, of course) at the start/end of paragraphs.
Course of action?
