Vertical drop down menu in the nav-bar

Hi,

I'm trying to create a vertical drop down menu in my nav-bar for an upgrade from Tiki 12 to Tiki 13. The new bootstrap doesn't seem to want to cooperate with my older code.

Essentially, my menus in Tiki 12 work so that when you mouse over a nav-bar item, a drop down menu opens up with other navigation links. How can I accomplish this in Tiki 13?

Thanks

On the admin modules page, did you set the parameters for the menu's module like this: bootstrap=n and css=y ? This should produce a menu that works like the pre-Bootstrap menus. (That said, I see now that the appearance of the menu isn't so great, as some themes don't have complete CSS for these menus now. That needs to be fixed.)

Hi Gary,

Yes, this is essentially what I tried when experimenting with the settings. While yes, it does provide the drop down menus from pre-bootstrap, I was looking for a more stylized version. An example would be the drop down menus on the tiki main homepage: http://info.tiki.org/tiki-index.php where you can simply mouse over an menu item and the options fly out.

It's looking as though I may need to just redo my CSS to fit my own customizations however.

Thanks!

I added back some CSS rules from pre-Tiki13, with some influence from Bootstrap's dropdowns, which I committed in the branch 13 and trunk Subversion repositories. You can get the stylesheets here: http://sourceforge.net/p/tikiwiki/code/HEAD/tree/branches/13.x/styles/ and use them as is or take what you need from them regarding the CSS menus. I think the vertical spacing of the top-level items (.cssmenu li a) isn't specified yet, so you may have to add top and/or bottom padding to them. I didn't get to that yet.
