Yes it is possible, and Ive seen it done, even attempted myself ;)
Couple of issues I see:
A search and replace of all files replacing tiki- with whatever- would also change CSS names beginning tiki- meaning styles from mods. wouldnt work as expected without a little hack.
Totally unsure of the stability of tiki when running in this way.
