Warning on trying External Linking

Hi I'm brandnew to tikiwikiworld. I had an Sucessful installation on 1.7.8. that works perfectly. The 1.8.3 gives me a warning on linking to external pages e. g. Pardun Pressebüro

Warning: strstr() function.strstr: Empty delimiter. in /www/htdocs/dwpa/dwpa/lib/tikilib.php on line 4175

Warning: strstr() function.strstr: Empty delimiter. in /www/htdocs/dwpa/dwpa/lib/tikilib.php on line 4175

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /www/htdocs/dwpa/dwpa/lib/tikilib.php:4175) in /www/htdocs/dwpa/dwpa/tiki-editpage.php on line 640

Could you help me?

Thks Helmer

P.S. Looking at the preview here Links work.

How did you upgrade from 1.7x to 1.8x? Did you do a clean installation of the Tiki files or did you just copy the new version of the files over the old ones? In my Tiki 1.8.3 I see no reference on line 4175 in tikilib.php to a 'strstr' function.

Regards,

Pat.

I've seen this error message too.

I first saw it when I used 1.8.0 (or was it 1.8.1?) after a clean install (installed via "Fantastico" ... Fantastico being the package-installer provided by my ISP).

Since then, I have upgraded to 1.8.3 and the problem persists.

Any insights would be appreciated. Even if htat insight is just something like, "This is not a widespread problem. Wait for a new version — maybe it will go away."

Thanks.

Dan

I'm copying the external-link example that appears at the bottom of this page (under "Posting Replies") into this reply just for fun:

I get a very similar error when putting an external link in a blog post. I am using fresh install of Tiki 1.8.4 any help would be greatly appreciated.
The error is generated when using the following external link formating:
http://www.website.com

If I don't use the brackets then everything posts fine except that then my link isn't clickable as it only displays the actual URL as text, but the minute I introduce the brackets I get an error when I go to either save or even to preview.

The error is:

The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

----------------------------

Only one top level element is allowed in an XML document. Error processing resource 'http://www.itsh.us/tiki/tiki-blog_post.php'. Line 2, Position 2

Warning: Empty Delimiter in /home/httpd/vhosts/itsh.us/httpdocs/tiki/lib/tikilib.php on line 4174

I too have a new install of tikiwiki, using Fantastico via cPanel. The version being installed is 1.8.4.

The message I get when I put in an external link inside square brackets is:

Warning: strstr(): Empty delimiter. in /home/indexer/public_html/lib/tikilib.php on line 4084

which appears to be the same as in the first message in this thread, except for the difference in sites.

Any ideas what is causing this and how to remove this message? Editing the page causes a variation of this message to appear. And while this message appears at the top of the page with the link, the link textor description shows up properly and the link works. (I get the same message when I remove the description, btw.)

Thanks,

Roger

In response to another problem someone was having, Damian pointed to Admin -> General and completing the servername entry.

I inserted the domain name for my website there, and this problem went away immediately.
