New releases, woo! (please test)

Hi all

Thanks to Nelson, Jean-Marc and Amette (and Gary for lending moral support ;) we now have new releases for all "supported" branches of Tiki, namely 14.2, 12.5, 9.11 and even 6.15

A full announcement of these new version will be going out tomorrow, providing everything seems to be ok.

Can everybody (please?) grab a tarball or two from sf.net and let us know if they seem ok either here or on irc.

The releases are in:

I have downloaded and lightly tested the bz2 tarballs of each branch (i.e. ran setup.sh, did tiki-install.php upgrade, logged in, edited and save a page...) and they all seemed ok but i don't think we should do the main announcements, and update the version notifier panels, until a few others can confirm it all looks ok.

Thanks all, in advance!

jonny

p.s. I've moved the folders of discontinued branches into "Old Stuff"

Great job !

Downloaded and tested tiki-14.2.tar.bz2
All went smoothly.

Doing so I checked and updated all the way from https://info.tiki.org/Download to https://doc.tiki.org/Installation playing the newbee.

I certainly missed a lot but yet, this is a pain and no wonder it stays outdated.
We should be smarter than that and have dozens of occurrences for the same data updated automatically.

If you tell me what to redirect how then I update the .htaccess file. :-)

+1,000,000 :-)

The "plan" is/was to set up redirects from info to the corresponding page on tiki.org... any volunteers? ;)

Also this means where pages we copied across from info to t.o and renamed need aliases setting up for what the page used to be called.

Unless anyone's got any better ideas?

Anyway, what i was going to say was... 14.2 has had 44 downloads and 10 for 12.5 and no adverse reports that i know of, so i think we need to make the release announcements now.

Sound ok?

Thanks all,

jonny

Better later than never?
I tested 14.2 .7z and 12.5 tar.gz: bare new installs, localized
interface in Catalan, applied a profile (behind a proxy), etc.
Everything working as expected.
Thanks for the hard work you have done!
My 2 cents.
Xavi

Oups, I answered too fast.

Using 12.5, Applying a Featured profile, such as
https://profiles.tiki.org/Collaborative_Community_12x

I get some preferences not applied (regression). this used to work.
I wonder if being behind a proxy matters.
Can anyone else test to see whether this issue is reproduced in other
cases, please?

Featured profiles should be working smoothly, I guess, since they are
expected to be the first entry points for new testers of Tiki.

Maybe not a blocker, but if the issue is confirmed, some attention
should be payed (specially since applying profiles in trunk is also
failing for me in some cases, another regression reported already:
https://dev.tiki.org/item5794 )

Thanks Xavi

I was just about to update the notifier files with the new version but do you think i need to hold off on that because of this? Did it all work ok in 12.4?

Or could it be proxy issues? (guess i need to test too, right ;)

Ok, i see some errors

> • Tracker Field Factory Error: Pref "trackerfield_dropdownother" required for field type "Tracker_Field_Dropdown"

So it looks like the trackerfield_dropdownother pref setting in the profile failed, as did feature_trackers in fact :-( and probably others...

Looking at the commits to the lib/core/Tiki/Profile dir since 12.4 (r55551) there doesn't look like anything regarding preferences specifically has changed, and nothing in admin/include_profiles.php since r53626.

Will try and step through it and see what went wrong - and if anyone else can try and test the same in 14.x and trunk that would be good.

Thanks all...

Found it - am fixing now - sadly affects trunk, 14 and 12 from what i can tell.

Not sure if we need to re-release (but i guess so, profiles need to work don't they...)

Well, there's good news and good news (sort of).

The good news is that i've fixed it in 12.x in r57272 so if others could retest please from svn that would be nice.

And the good news is that somehow it was only present in 12.x, besides allegedly being a backport (presumably not svn merged but done by hand? ;)

So the question is do we re-release 12.5 (there have only been 21 downloads) or move on to 12.6? I would favour re-releasing 12.5 as we haven't announced the new version yet, although Softaculous seem to have been very quick off the mark and have updated their stuff already (see https://twitter.com/softaculous/status/689777022915235840).

Hmm, whatever it is i think it needs to be done soon. I have to go (and am busy tomorrow until late afternoon)
