What does feature_file_galleries_templates do?

Hi template experts,

I tried to use the "File gallery configuration templates" feature, but I
have no idea about what it does.
Once I also activated "feature_wiki_templates", I got a "Content templates"
menu item under Settings.
It lets me create a file gallery template, but this is a textarea ?? I put
some text in the textarea and saved the template
and I could create a new file gallery using this template in the template
drop-down.

I have not managed to figure out any effect. All looks exactly as if there
was no template.

The feature "feature_file_galleries_templates" is not flagged as
experimental.
Should it be or am I missing something obvious?

Cheers,
J-M

After some grep, svn blame and search, I found this which should help.

Thanks a lot.
The use of YAML format definitely explains why random text would not have
any effect!

I have fixed the usability issues, and I'll try to put some sensible
example on doc.to if I get it to work.

Hi Jean-Marc and Nelson and all

I've never managed to work out what this is for but it's one of the main reasons the file gallery templates are so hard to maintain and still remain buggy in some areas.

My vote would be to remove it for 16.x if you find it doesn't work anymore, if it ever did (and use normal template overrides or CSS if you want to customise).

My 2¢ ;)

Mobile security can be enabling, not merely restricting. Employees who
bring their own devices (BYOD) to work are irked by the imposition of MDM
restrictions. Mobile Device Manager Plus allows you to control only the
apps on BYO-devices by containerizing them, leaving personal data untouched!
