    Hello all and our trackers/unified index masters,

    The page https://tiki.org/Consultants show items from https://tiki.org/tracker22.
    We made some changes there and find out the following.

    The content of the new field "TikiConsultantImage" is not displayed after new content is inserted using the list plugin at https://tiki.org/Consultants.
    It require we rebuild the index of t.o.

    Is it the way it is supposed to work ?
    Shouldn't the content appears right away ?

    Hello Bernard,

    I`m also having the same doubt about that, making me to choose trackerlist
    plugin other than the list (which is claimed to be much superior than
    trackerlist) to get instant changes of content.

    The content I`m dealing changes fast, and need to be acessed right away,
    that means I have to stick to trackerlist and trackerfilter?

    For example, in this logic, a contact system could not be built on list
    plugins, as you would only see changes when the index is rebuilt. Unless
    you rebuild it every time the content changes, but doesn`t seem very
    practical.

    Well, I`m stuck into that too, because I need the functionalities of the
    list plugin, but don`t see a way to use it.

    Hi Bernard and Fernando

    It seems the unified_incremental_update pref "Incremental Index Update" is disabled on tiki.org so yes, any changes will need a full index rebuild to show in anything to do with the unified search (and so is pretty well useless).

    It should be on by default so someone (one of us admins) has disabled it, anyone got any idea why?
    (Oliver: i know ES was having trouble for a while but it's all ok now, isn't it?)

    Didn`t know about this pref, but it was already on for me.

    Checking here, I still have this issue, of no update of the index on adding
    or removing new items in trackers. The changes only become visible when I
    rebuild my index.

    Could it be a database problem? Using InnoDB here

    Bernard, did it fix on the t.o website?

    Hi Fernando,

    Which version of mysql are you on? There is a restriction about using fulltext searching on InnoDB tables before a certain version, 5.6 or 5.7 i think? (i presume you are using the default mysql engine?)

    Although actually if it works after a rebuild it must be ok... hmm.

    We did find one case recently where a new comment on a tracker item doesn't seem to appear until a rebuild but (i just checked on my 16.x on both ES and MySQL newly created items appear in the index (in a list plugin) immediately.

    Anyone got any other ideas?

    Hey Jonny,

    Im using a RDS instance from AWS, that runs on MySQL 5.6.23.

    If I try to use the Legacy Search, I get this error (*Can't find FULLTEXT
    index matching the column list)*
    Guess it`s expected right? As I`m using InnoDb? The strange thing it
    previously used to work, and suddenly stopped.
    This is on the info about it: InnoDB doesn't support Full-Text Search
    earlier than version 5.6.

    Well, my problem is a big deeper, I see no new items, but also see the
    recently deleted items, as they were before. =/

    Do you have incremental search?
    If you don't, then yes, you need to rebuild the index before anything is
    taken into account.

    Found this on doc.tiki.org/PluginCustomSearch#Rebuild_search_index :
    Rebuild your search index after you have created some content in tracker 1,
    so that this content can be found by the search engine through the search
    index.
