Branch 15 log-in broken?

Hi,

I tried logging in to my localhost branch 15 today and couldn’t. After
submitting username and password, the page just refreshes with no
changes; I’m not logged in and there’s no error message. Maybe the last
time I logged in to that installation was a few weeks ago; I’m not sure.

So I got a fresh Tiki 15.4 from Sourceforge and installed it, and when I
enter the admin password for the first time at the end of the install
process, I get an error “Invalid old password”.

There is no old password of course, as it’s a fresh install. So it looks
like logging in is broken in Tiki 15.4. I didn’t try an earlier release.

About the localhost branch 15 installation, on IRC, Jyhem asked if I was
using the login modules or tiki-login.php, and it was the modules that
gave me problems. At tiki-login.php I could log in. So I logged in and
then back out, and this time trying to log in again (using a module) I
get the error “Cookies must be enabled to log in to this site”, though
again the tiki-login page worked ok. Is the login module working for
other people?

About the fresh Tiki 15.4 installation, I just refreshed the page (Tiki
root) and got the log-in screen, so input “admin” and the new admin
password that I had used at the end of the install procedure. This
log-in worked, so apparently the new password was accepted even though
the installation-end change-password page showed an “Invalid old
password” error.

So logging in worked in the end but it was a rocky path. Probably more
Tiki 15 install/logins should be checked if anyone has time.
