Trouble with IMG and Fancy Table plugins after upgrading from 9.9 to 12.9

posts: 20

I just upgraded to 12.9 and am beginning to notice some differences that are throwing me off a bit. Probably easily to fix, but I'm not sure how.

First, I noticed all the images that had been inserted into the pages through using external links were no longer being parsed by the IMG plugin the way they had in 9.9 . Here's an example.

In the editing page, I noticed that the icon that was previously used for inserting images with external links is gone (see attachment). Is this related to why the IMG plugin isn't working the way it did before? How do I insert images now?

Second, I notice that the Fancy Table Plugin is forcing the page to expand to fit all the information on one line (example). On 9.9, Fancy Table just created a second line for the overflow text, leaving the screen in it's correct margins.

Gratefully,
Caleb

The difficulty with the Fancy Table plugin seems to be from the filters in the tablesorter jquery plugin. Turning off tablesorter or manually turning off the filter on each Fancy Table seems to solve the problem.

I don't know why, but the imgbox div is getting inline CSS that is making the box containing the image really small - just 2px by 3px.

You can add this CSS to the custom CSS section of the Look and Feel admin page:

.imgbox {
width: auto !important;
height: auto !important;
}

And this will cause the imgbox to be full width and tall enough to contain the image, so there's no text overflowing it. I don't know if this is how imgbox is supposed to look, but I think it's probably acceptable. If you'd prefer the box to not be full page width, then try adding

display: table;

or

display: inline-block;

as one of the properties of .imgbox, along with the height and width rules.

I haven't looked at the Fancy Table problem yet.

Thank you Gary! This worked:

.imgbox {
width: auto !important;
height: auto !important;
display: table;
}

Here's an example.

I'm still confused why the img plugin insert image icon isn't appearing in the edit screen.

As for the Fancy Table issue, is there a way to turn off tablesorter without turning off the sort function of Fancy Table? Or is there a way to turn off the filters site-wide without having to turn the off manually on each Fancy Table?
